We will provide you with all the necessary information and instructions well in advance.
This will include, but is not limited to, your informed consent document, your diagnostic (ICD-10) code, your procedure code and the date for the procedure planned..
You will be given a form with clear instructions of what you need to do. This has been set up to avoid unnecessary mistakes, confusion and to reduce patient and/or family anxiety.
If you have a medical aid, you will then contact them with this information for your pre-authorization code.
Please note: My staff have clear instructions not to contact your medical aid, on your behalf.
This is to avoid unnecessary mistakes, confusion and prolonged telephone calls.
Please understand that these ladies are extremely busy with other medical and administrative tasks.
Thank you kindly for your co-operation in this regard.
